A New Story in Every Aircraft: Sezen Zirek

What is the most important motivation that connects you to this profession?

We don't know what awaits us until we arrive at work, and I think that's one of the most exciting aspects of this job. For most people, airplanes may just be a means of transportation, but for us, they are almost like "friends" we communicate with.

Encountering a different situation every day and finding solutions really feels good. At the same time, constantly improving myself and learning new things keeps me genuinely motivated.

In your opinion, what is the absolute prerequisite for this profession?

I believe curiosity, discipline, working according to documentation, and loving the job form the foundation of this profession. Every day, we accomplish a physically and mentally demanding job. It wouldn't be easy to improve yourself and continuously learn without being curious.

Discipline is one of the indispensable parts of this work, because we do a job that requires attention and responsibility. When you love what you do, this intensity becomes more meaningful and enjoyable. Being actively involved and completing things correctly and safely is truly satisfying.

What does being a technician at SunExpress mean to you?

For me, being a technician at SunExpress means having the opportunity to experience diverse and varied tasks while working in a systematic, organized, and corporate environment. Being part of such a team in a field where safety is so vital is also a great feeling.

At the same time, I see this place as an environment where I can develop myself, gain experience, and learn new things every day. As a backpacker, having access to flight and ticket privileges is also a really great advantage for me.

A note to the future of the profession…

We work closely with technology, and I believe the future will bring us very different experiences along with these advances. I am only in my fifth year in the profession, and I am extremely curious about what lies ahead for us.

I suppose the most important point is to adapt quickly to these changes and processes. We will continue to move forward by developing, learning, and gaining experience.
